Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay Thai MMA fighter as well as a mixed martial artist who is currently fighting in the flyweight division of the UFC. Valentina Shevchenko who was a former UFC Flyweight titleholder, and UFC fellow fighter is her younger sister. Antonina Shevchenko began her fight sport career by becoming an Muay Thai kickboxer. She made her debut at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko won the tournament and beat Suzane Miller in the finals by a unanimous decision. Antonina followed it up and took home a silver medal in 2007, a bronze award in 2008 a gold medal in the year 2011 and the title of 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonia's professional career began in 2003. In 2012 she won the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship and in 2016 the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016 the WMC World Championships. Antonina was a part of Isa TIDBLAD Keskikangas's fight last at Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by a unanimous vote. Antonina Shychenko's professional MMA debut came in 2002 at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan where she was matched against Anara Bayanova. She took the fight with a TKO at the end of round two and her subsequent 2 matches were held at the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko stopped her involvement in MMA so that she could focus on boxing. She returned to fight Anissa Haddaoui in Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa Haddaoui in the unanimous verdict. She later defeated Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4 in an unanimous vote. She left in 2018 the contest and started participating in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko knocked out Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina defeated Nievera by her impressive striking ability during the clinch final round through knees to the body. Antonina Shevchenko was awarded a UFC Contract after this victory. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut at TUF Heavy Hitters Finale against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was defeated by Roxanne modafferi by split decision following her first fight. Antonina recovered from this loss, defeating Lucie Pudilova in the UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler via a rear-naked choke submission. The result earned her the fight-of-the-night bonus. Shevchenko was 1-2 over her next 3 fights. She beat Ariane Lipski but lost to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina suffered a loss to Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO during UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
